Always soft sugar cookies

1c. sugar 1tsp. baking soda
2 eggs 1tsp. salt
1/2c. shortening 2tsp. baking powder
1tsp. vanilla 4c. flour
1c. sour cream

Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Add sour cream. Mix all dry ingredients together. Slowly add wet ingredients and dry ingredients together. Rollout ¼ inch thick. Cut shapes and cook at 375 degrees for 7-10 minutes.

Cream Cheese Frosting
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream Cheese, softened1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine, softened1 tsp. vanilla1 pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar (about 4 cups), sifted
BEAT cream cheese, butter and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.ADD sugar gradually, beating until well blended after each addition
